Free Walk and Talk: The New Carriage Shed

Two tours. At 11am and again at 2pm. Meet at the ticket office. Event length up to 60 minutes.
Maximum 15 people per group, no need to book: first come first served. Please wear stout footwear as some of the ground is uneven.
Not suitable for children under 16 years old.
The first in a series of talks for heritage railway enthusiasts. Designing and building a new carriage shed is a complex technical project. Our new shed took nearly two years to build, partly because of delays due to COVID.
Now we have a large well-equipped area ideal for ongoing repairs, maintenance and rolling stock/locomotive restoration projects.
This event wil begin with a walk from the ticket office, through the wood to the carriage shed where we will explain the construction process and how we use the facility. We will also discuss our ongoing restoration projects.
