Local Heritage Railway Wins Award!

Hampton Kempton Waterworks Railway (HKWR) recently won the prestigious Heritage Railway Association Award for Infrastructure at a dazzling ceremony in Birmingham, dubbed the ‘Oscars’ of UK heritage rail for their self-build Coach Shed and Maintenance Facility.

David Lewis, HKWR volunteer, proudly received the Award for the project on the basis that it would give support for the long-term viability for the development of the railway.  HKWR volunteers are dedicated to restoring the railway to its former glory and the award represents a huge thank you to all of them for their amazing work which took over two years to complete, and who still managed and operated the railway throughout.
